W. David Lane, Ph.D., is Professor of Counseling at Mercer University in Atlanta, Georgia. He has worked extensively with children and teens in his counseling career and started writing his stories to help children (and adults) deal with grief, trauma, and abuse. His stories were well received and loved, so he began to publish them. In his professional life, he writes on many different topics. He is the author or co-author of six children's books, and several books on counseling and professional topics, including a children's story based early childhood education curriculum and a story based trauma treatment model. He decided long ago that he would never actually grow up, and believes that refusing to grow up is absolutely the way to go.
