In the book, Nightshade, readers were introduced to a power couple by the name of Calla Tor and Ren Laroche. This is a team of two wolves from different packs who were supposed to wed, therefore combining the two wolf packs into one solid family. Of course, as all things do in life, a wrench was thrown into their plans when Calla saved a normal, average boy named Shay from a bear attack. Not only did Calla discover that she may just love Shay, she also found out that he was no normal, average boy.

In Wolfsbane we begin at the moment where Nightshade left all readers hanging. Calla Tor has woken up in the lair of the Searchers, her sworn enemy, and she’s absolutely positive that she’s about to be killed. However, negotiations take place and the Searchers make Calla an offer she can’t refuse. She has one chance to destroy her enemies, save her pack, and the one man she left behind who she was destined to be mated with.

Gaining her freedom, Calla is desperate to find her pack. She needs to get to them in order to explain the reason she made the choices she has, and to tell them the lies that they’ve been living under all this time. The non-stop search is wearing Calla down, especially when she begins to understand who she is and what she really wants.

Shay is a man she loves, and a man who could one day be the savior of her pack and all they have fought for. On the other hand, Calla’s heart belongs to Ren, as well, and she wants nothing more than to get to him before it’s too late. Calla seeks everything from redemption to forgiveness for the life that she has wrecked beyond repair, and the only one who can give her what she needs is a wolf who has turned from her mate into her sworn enemy.

Ren Laroche has been in a cell being brainwashed, and although he still loves Calla, his loyalty remains firm and he’s literally waiting to wipe his true love from the face of the earth.

Quill Says: With Book I, the author proved she had something to say. With Book II, she firmly has readers and fans in her grasp begging for what is sure to be a brilliant finale.
