The first book in this amazing series, The Elf Queen, took readers on a truly fantastic journey through the worlds of human and elf.
As we begin the second book, Jelani is the new Queen of the Clan Elves living in the majestic Bitterroot mountains. Having been raised as a human, Jelani is slowly learning the ways of her new world, and being taught all she needs to know by ‘The Circle’ - a group who govern the Clan.
Astan Hawk is the consort to the Queen. He first fell in love with Jelani when he saved her from peril in the first book, and does his job every day protecting her from the horrific people/elves who will try desperately to bring her down. Astan Hawk is also still on the lookout for his boyhood friend, Grigor.
When the war of the elves began, Grigor decided to part ways with Astan and follow the evil Bartolomey in his uprising against the Clan. Bartolomey is the evil fiend who killed Jelani’s parents in order to rule, but lost the battle. And with it, Grigor lost his eleven powers because of his error in judgment.
When Grigor returns, he wears a talisman given to him by the mysterious ‘Firefly,’ which has completely restored his eleven powers and has offered him a way to bring Astan, Jelani, and the rest of the Clan down to their knees. In order to rule, Grigor goes after the elf child who has been brought into the world. However, Grigor doesn’t quite know who his friends are, let alone the enemy who is standing right behind him watching every move he makes.
As the Clan goes to war once again, Astan Hawk must protect his love, fight for his child, and thwart his enemy - not to mention figure out if his own ‘Circle’ has been infiltrated by evil.
Every page of The Elf Child is packed with mystical, imaginative, phenomenal plots and characters that will spark every readers’ imagination. As Ms. Alexander heads into the final book of her series, The Elf Mage, fans can only wonder who will be left standing when the Clan Elves of the Bitterroot come to an end.
Quill Says: A perfectly fun, magical series that offers a balance of good and evil, leading up to a climax of mammoth proportions. Start with the first book in this remarkable series and have a ball!
