Renate G. Justin, MD retired from medical practice in her mid-seventies. She received a prize both from the Canadian and American Academy of Family Physicians for her work with and publications about end-of-life issues. She has published numerous articles for both the lay and professional press. Her essays have been included in several anthologies. Renate died in 2017. She was 90 years old. She said of this memoir, “These are my memories. Memories are not necessarily correct or accurate, but they are what I have to tell.
