Author Bios: Dorian Box

“Dorian Box” is a former law professor whose eight nonfiction books include an Amazon Editors’ Favorite Book of the Year. In fiction, he loves to blending dark and gritty themes with heart, hope, and humor. His first novel, Psycho-Tropics, received a Writer’s Digest Award in Genre Fiction.

He’s currently deep into the Emily Calby Series, which follows 12-year-old Emily’s perilous life forward from the day two men invade her rural Georgia home and kill her family. Acclaim for book 1 in the series, The Hiding Girl, includes: 2020 Best Thriller of the Year (; Publishers Weekly Booklife Prize Semifinalist; 2020 Readers’ Favorite Book Award in Suspense Fiction; IndieReader’s Official Seal of Approval; and Feathered Quill’s 2021 Bronze Medal in Mystery/Suspense.

Book 2 in the series, The Girl in Cell 49B, is set for release on March 1, 2021.

In his academic life, Box received numerous awards for both teaching and research and wrote thousands, possibly millions, of scholarly footnotes. He’s been interviewed as a legal expert by National Public Radio, the PBS Newshour, New York Times, and many other sources.

Dorian lives out his childhood rock star fantasies playing in cover bands that earn tens of dollars sweating it out until two a.m. in dive bars.
