Christopher Keating (1957 - ) was born in Fort Worth, Texas, the seventh of nine children. His father was a geologist and worked in the petroleum industry, starting Christopher on a life-long love of science while also taking the family all over the world. After returning to the US after high school, Christopher eventually joined the US Navy. After leaving active duty for the Navy Reserve, he attended graduate school and earned the Ph.D. in physics. He now lives in the Texas Hill Country where he spends his time writing, long-distance hiking, and howling at the moon.
