A big wide-eyed yellow duck looks right at you, but if you watch closely he will open up his bill and quack, quack at you. “Morning dawned and / the sun came back, / which woke up / DUCK, / who went / QUACK! QUACK!” Of course when a big yellow duck makes all kinds of noise the rooster will crow “COCK-A-DOODLE-DOO!” as loud as he can. Who do you think will wake up next? It is the smiling Holstein cow with the little bell around his neck, who will wake up the cat who will wake up the dog who will wake up the sheep who will wake up the donkey who will wake up the pony. It’s fun to imitate the animals and learn how they welcome their day, but “When you wake up, what do you say?”
This adorable board book will make your little one giggle as they imitate the sounds of a delightful passel of animals. There are eight “Big-Mouth” flaps to open as the littlest “reader” makes his or her way through this marvelous book. This is a progressive story that will excite toddlers and preschoolers and make them interested in reading. Once the flap is lifted they will know exactly what each animal says to wake up the next one in line. The flaps are very sturdy, but no doubt this book will be read time and time again so I’d suggest you reinforce them along the edges with some heavy, clear tape.
Quill says: This is a bow-WOW fun board book that your wannabe little reader is going to love!
