Mommy panda held her baby aloft so he could look over the landscape with his little red telescope to see across the beautiful land. Next she smiled as she gently pushed him on the swing. “Thank you God for Mommy. / Her smile that shines so bright! / Whenever something makes me sad, / She shows me it’s all right.” Of course there’s no problem when little ones make a mistake and it’s always nice to see that Mommy helps others by giving them food. It makes no difference who they are, large or small, she’s always there to help.
When her little one has a boo-boo she is ready to fix it with cuddles and a bandage, and when the smiley faces come back it’s time to play. If the skies open up and the angels are washing their floors and the thunder and lightning boom fill the skies, it can get very scary. Mommy panda cuddles her baby tight and covers him with a blanket. “Thank you God for Mommy. / Her arms that hold me near. / When lightning strikes and thunder booms, / She helps to calm my fear.” When the storm has gone Mommy is still there to snuggle, comfort, and love her baby. God thinks Mommy’s are very special and so do little pandas!
This is an adorable board book that tells us how a little panda thanks God for his Mommy. The verse is superbly done and has an aura of happiness and comfort about it. Mommy and baby are shown together interacting and creating a special relationship that only they can understand. There are smiles, cuddles, and playful moments that grace the pages of this beautiful book. The artwork is charming and shouts love with every caring brushstroke.
Quill says: This delightful board book would make for an excellent snuggle up, cuddle up and read book for any Mommy and her “real” baby!
