Feathered Quill Book Awards

"It can be difficult to find honest feedback and constructive criticism when submitting one's work for review, but I knew I had found both when I found Feathered Quill. It goes without saying that it has not been an easy task to find ways to allow my novel to stand out in the crowd of thousands upon thousands of published books in the market.  Winning a book award from such a reputable organization with such a talented team as Feathered Quill will undoubtedly allow my book to shine!"

- Louis Woyak
Author of Beneath the Ruins
2022 Gold Winner in the Science Fiction Category

"I’m overwhelmed with joy to win the Feathered Quill Gold Award for my novel Nothing’s As It Seems in both the Romance and Women’s Fiction categories. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Feathered Quill Book Awards and their review program. They give you an honest breakdown of your cover, content, and editing, which is exceedingly beneficial as a writer. Being able to showcase their award seals on both my novels is an honor!"

- Holly Brandon

RULES OF THE PROGRAM

Eligibility

All books with a 2023 or 2024 copyright date, written in English, are eligible. (Our "Best of Backlist" category is for all books published in 2022 or earlier.)

Books may be entered into more than one category (see pricing for additional information).

Submission of galleys are acceptable, but all such entries must include front and back covers, as well as be in final layout form. Since these are aspects that are included in the judging process, to not include them will put your book at a disadvantage. We do accept digital versions (PDF), but please note that all digital versions must include both the front and the back covers (books without covers will be at a disadvantage because both covers are judged/scored and not having covers scored will drop your book's overall score). All PDF/digital versions must include the front and back covers within the same file as the book itself. At this time we are not accepting audio books for our award program.

Judging

The judging panel is comprised of professionals: authors, reviewers, editors, and publicists who are active in the literary community. In the extremely competitive book world, Feathered Quill judges know what makes a TOP-PICK. Judging criteria include, but are not limited to:

Originality, Ability to Engage the Reader, Cover Art, Interior Illustrations (particularly in the children's division), Layout and Design, Production Quality, Editorial Quality, and How Well the Book Fits into the Intended Genre.

Submission Process

Fill out the online submission form. Be sure to print out two copies of the submission form - one for your records and one to mail to us with your book(s). Please send one copy of each nominated book per category and mail to us at: Attn: Awards Committee, Feathered Quill Book Reviews, PO Box 768, Minneola, FL 34755. We will acknowledge receipt of your book(s) when it arrives. Note that once we have received the nominated book(s), we will not accept an updated edition/version at a later date so please be sure to send the final, edited book. All submitted books become the property of Feathered Quill Book Reviews and will not be returned. If you are submitting a digital (PDF) version of your book, please email the file to: [email protected] after you have completed and submitted the nomination form. Nominated books must arrive at our office no later than Wednesday, December 18, 2024.
