Samantha Childs lives and writes by the Pacific Ocean in San Diego, California. Her award-winning children’s book, Henri and the Magnificent Snort, tells the story of a little French bulldog named Henri who is bullied because he snorts and who then learns that he is lovable, snorts and all. The book is a PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center Book Club Book and the Dr. Seuss Foundation has funded the creation of a Bilingual Edition of Henri and the Magnificent Snort to be used in a multi-school educational program to teach children about bullying prevention. Samantha earned her BA with Honors in Literature from Claremont McKenna College, her JD from UCLA School of Law, her MFA in Nonfiction Writing from Columbia University, and she studied Shakespeare at St. Catherine’s College, Oxford University. Her children’s book is based on the true life her dog, Henri, who is a beloved Instagram celebrity @henrilefrenchie, as well as on her own personal experiences with being bullied in childhood. Samantha loves animals, nature, traveling, writing, art, dancing, photography, and anything creative and imaginative.
