Rebecca L. Fearnley has always been away with the fairies. Writing stories about magic and monsters since the age of fourteen, she has always been fascinated with ideas of the uncanny. Rebecca enjoys writing stories with dark undertones, but that are fundamentally tales of bravery and hope. Her characters are often determined and driven young women striving for a better world. They are warriors, fugitives, orphans, and exiles. Rebecca won the International Firebird Book Award in dark fantasy for her book, The Shadow and the Scream, in 2024, shortly before winning the bronze award from Feathered Quill! When she isn't writing stories, Rebecca can be found with her nose in a book and her parrot on her shoulder, playing her ukulele, or zooming round a track with her roller derby team!
