A graduate of Montana State University with a B.A. in English, I have worked as a newspaper editor, writer, and freelance copy editor and proofreader. Prior to that I was a veterinary technician and am a lifelong animal lover. My first novel, Maddie McDowell and the Rodeo Robbery, was a finalist for the Western Writers Of America Spur Award for Juvenile Fiction. My next book, Dog Talk, is set for release in August. I am a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators, and live in Montana with my husband, two Arabian horses, a Maine coon cat, and three crazy Pyrenean shepherd dogs.
