"Focht's delightful memoir about an urban girl who ends up living and loving in a tiny farming community in rural Saskatchewan will entertain and win hearts… Focht's prose is humorous and breezy, handling sorrow, loss, and frustration just as deftly as she does life's funnier moments."

Kirkus Indie Reviews
"Focht’s prose is consistently sharp, funny, and unflinchingly honest, and she has a gift for comedic rhythm that provides constant entertainment. Her no-nonsense voice makes discussions about sex and sorrow feel authentic and charming without veering into sentimentality. The author proves to be a gifted storyteller with an engaging, offbeat voice."

"This portrayal of small town life is charming, thought provoking, and laugh-out-loud funny. The challenges of small town living, its isolation and loneliness are described here as are its joy and satisfaction. 5 stars!"
