Author Bios: James Robinson Jr.

James Robinson, Jr. is an award-winning author who has written 9 books in both the fiction and non-fiction genres.

His first book, Fighting the Effects of Gravity: A Bittersweet Journey into Middle Life, is an Indie Award winner for nonfiction. His first foray into fiction, Book of Samuel, was a Readers’ Favorite Award Winner. His 6th composition—Jay Got Married—is a collection of 9 humorous, satirical essays which often speak to ironies and inconsistencies of life.

Jay Got Married is not just the title of the book but the lead essay of the same title and an amusing look at love and marriage in the year 2020.

His last work, Old Age Sucks, could be considered a follow-up to his first treatise, Fighting the Effects of Gravity.

Mr. Robinson’s current literary entry released January 16 of 2023 and titled I Injured My Foot Doing the Mashed Potato or...I Should Have Stuck with the Twist, consists of 25 humorous essays covering such diverse topics as: How I injured my foot attempting an old dance after watching a Family Feud episode, “Bat Lives Matter,” “Finding Bigfoot,” and “The Conn” (as in Star Trek).

Mr. Robinson hit the ground running with his writing career at age 45 when Fighting the Effects of Gravity emerged and his children began to mature, affording him the time to write. It was also then that he began to hone in on his sardonic wit.

Mr. Robinson resides in Pittsburgh, PA with his wife of 47 years. He is the father of three daughters ages 41, 42, and 44 and the proud grandfather of six.
