Author Bios: Graydon Dee Hubbard

For most of his 91-year life, Dee has served in the public interest: two years of active military duty; 30 years a Denver CPA where he managed the largest audit practice in the Rocky Mountain west; a subsequent 20 year career as a Director, Audit Committee Chair and Board Designated Financial Expert for two public companies. He's also served as Director or Trustee of twelve Colorado-based educational and civic organizations.

Moving to Steamboat Springs, CO (now wintering in St. George, UT) to write and enjoy an outdoor life-style, cross country skiing captured his fancy at age 60. Succumbing to the lure of high mountains at 65, climbing became his obsession. He's celebrated Colorado Rocky Mountain highs from 29 of Colorado's 14ers and overlooked misty moors from 25 of Scotland’s Munros. On his saner days he goes flyfishing with his Golden retriever, Cholla.

Three times he's been to the podium in Denver's Tattered Cover Bookstore. He's also been to a podium deep in the heart and soul of Wall Street...to help ring the bell that opens the New York Stock Exchange.

All Denver Post bestsellers, Dee Hubbard's previously published books are:

SLIM TO NONE. The only book about an eating disorder non-survivor written from her point of view and mostly in her own words, excerpts from it received awards in both nonfiction and short-story competitions.

CHARLIE'S PRIDE. Also an award winner, his debut novel features a modern-day Last Mohican and pays tribute to a half-blood Native American’s unyielding devotion to a river.

AT THE ALTARS OF MONEY. His second novel romps through the tangled world of high finance featuring a modern-day Robin Hood. A #1 Amazon Best Seller, it received the Golden EVVY Award for first place in an international fiction competition, and was a finalist for a Reading the West Award.

NETWORK APPRENTICE, his third novel, is a satirically-edged portrait of telecast news. It exposes the deceptions embedded in a cruel myth that threatens America: that Americans are entitled to live in an affordable, riskless society and that our government should, can, and will provide it.

His published short stories include several award winners. His op-ed pieces have appeared in local and major regional newspapers.

Dee adheres to the philosophy: "I write for contribution, not for recognition...but a little recognition would be nice too."
