Milwaukee, Wisconsin native, Cate Miller has been writing since childhood, first penning scripts for neighborhood puppet shows. Later, she wrote extensively as a contributor and columnist for state and local newspapers, and magazines. An author and educator, Cate is now working on children’s books told from a dog’s perspective.

She published her first “dogcentric” book, Everything You Say About Me That's Wonderful is True, in 2019. It’s an A to Z prescription for happiness in 26 alphabetical poems about positive qualities, with diverse and inclusive illustrations by Amy Kleinhans.

Her second book, From Wags to Riches, is a middle year’s novel about a dog named Wags who escapes from a puppy mill. She is currently working on a sequel called Wags Goes to School. Her first play, SHOOT!, a comical tribute to her Mother, recently got a table read by Boulevard Theatre Ensemble.
