Brittany Petish is an award-winning children’s author and illustrator and the founder of True Heart Tails, a heart-centered book series inspired by real animals and real-life emotional journeys. Her first children’s book, Sally the Brave, was inspired by a real deer she encountered in the Blue Ridge Mountains and grew from a season of personal loss following the death of her soul dog. With more than 20 years of experience working alongside children with special needs, Brittany creates gentle, inclusive stories that help children navigate big feelings such as courage, grief, difference, and belonging. Her work has been recognized by the Feathered Quill Book Awards and the Chanticleer International Book Awards, and is shared in schools, libraries, therapy programs, and community spaces.
